The Lomondgate project encompasses a development site extending to some 106 acres straddling the A82 on the north western edge of Dumbarton.
The key to the new development will be the construction of a major roundabout on the A82 which will give direct access from the trunk road to the residential land to the south and the business park and roadside services area to the north.
The roundabout is part of a much more extensive infrastructure package which will greatly enhance the road network in the area and in doing so create a new destination and gateway. In addition to this the provision of extensive structural landscaping along with entrance and gateway features will see the area transformed into a quality living and working environment unrivalled in the wider Dumbarton area and beyond.
The main features of the Lomondgate Development are as follows:
- 30 Acres of residential land all to the south of the A82 - this will be developed by the Walker Group and two other housebuilders each building around 100 units, mainly family houses.
- 20 Acres of Business Park to the north of the A82 - this is likely to afford a range of tenures, formats and floor plates appealing to a wide market.
- 9 Acres of Roadside Services located adjacent to the Business Park - this will incorporate a 60 bed Premier Travel Inn, Brewers Fayre Family Pub/Restaurant and Tesco petrol filling station with a Tesco Express convenience store. It is also proposed to create two fast food/restaurant outlets in addition to further convenience retail/tourist facilities and a creche.
