"Having run a division of a major multinational business and now my own business, Wideblue - both based in the Vale of Leven - I can wholeheartedly recommend the area for new businesses. The location is convenient for the central belt of Scotland while having one of the world's most scenic areas on your doorstep. This helps to attract new people to the area which together with the quality of the local workforce helps to ensure the business has the right skills to compete globally. Wideblue works with many new companies helping them to take their technology idea through product design and development into manufacturing. A number of these companies have experienced the benefits that this area offers and have decided to base themselves here. The new Lomondgate development will provide much needed new facilities to support ongoing economic development for the area."

"I am extremely excited to see the plans for the business park development at Lomondgate progress here in West Dunbartonshire. I have for years personally had first hand experience of the key benefits of doing business in this area:"
- Skills availability and flexibility combined with favourable commuting impact
- Highly competitive infrastructure costs
- On the doorstep of the Loch Lomond National Park with all the benefits that brings for customers and employees alike.
"The Lomondgate development underlines and extends this scenario. It will improve and enhance existing services in the area and at the same time increase the 'energy levels' by attracting new and expanding businesses to our community. This can only be good news for us all and I look forward to the continued expansion and success of the Lomondgate development"
Bruce Malcolm, Chief Operating Officer, BBC Scotland
"I would just like to say a few words about BBC Scotland's past and continuing involvement in Dumbarton. I may add that I have a dual interest in this being Dumbarton born and bred and living a few hundred metres from this site.
In the late 1990's BBC Scotland decided to make a "soap" for our Scottish audience. This was to offer something unique that reflected contemporary life in Scotland. It was also seen as something key to providing a base from which to grow the craft skills base and acting community within Scotland.
We searched for a suitable location across Scotland. We needed privacy and security of tenure. We also needed sensitive neighbours. We also wanted a site that was easy to get to from airports, etc. and the major creative communities in Scotland. We also wanted somewhere which had a variety of locations for filming on its doorstep. We felt and still feel that the site in Dumbarton meets all these requirements.
We also feel that the overall site at Lomondgate is progressing very well. We have worked closely with all parties to ensure that the development progresses smoothly and have to pay tribute to the sensitivity and care with which demolition and construction has proceeded to allow us to continue our filming schedules without disruption.
The plans look really exciting and we believe that the developments to the site will help us continue to attract drama production to Dumbarton and Scotland in the future.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish West Dunbartonshire Council, Strathleven Regeneration Company and The Walker Group every success in developing the site,"
