NOW CLYDE WATERFRONT EXPANDS FROM ONE RIVER CITY TO ANOTHER...
We are delighted to update you with the news that the Clyde Waterfront project has been extended to include Dumbarton and Bowling on the north bank of the River Clyde. The Clyde Waterfront development area now runs for 20km, from Glasgow Green to Dumbarton, where the BBC's River City is filmed at the Shieldinch studios. Already Scotland's largest regeneration project, the Clyde Waterfront development area has added the 7km of riverside from the Erskine Bridge to Dumbarton on the north side of the river.
At Lomondgate, on the north edge of Dumbarton, Walker Group and Strathleven Regeneration Company have embarked on a major mixed use development. The Lomondgate residential development will create over 300 homes, alongside a 20 acre business park. Lomondgate roadside services will include a Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre restaurant, shops and a petrol station. The BBC Shieldinch studios, the home of River City, are also part of the Lomondgate site. Overall, the 20 - 25 year Clyde Waterfront regeneration programme will see up to £5.6billion of planned private and public sector investment deliver a globally attractive location for work, living and leisure. Clyde Waterfront is the strategic partnership established to deliver one of the most significant urban regeneration programmes in Britain.
