TRAFFIC OPERATIONS TO COMMENCE ON A82 AT GARSHAKE JUNCTION
Essential roadworks on the A82 at Garshake Junction, near Dumbarton, will commence on 4 February and are scheduled for completion within ten weeks.
The work, which will be undertaken by Raynesway Construction, includes replacing the traffic signals, creating a new pelican crossing, and widening the existing islands, and is part of planning conditions required for the development of Lomondgate, a £60m office, residential, retail and leisure development on the site of the former J&B Bottling Plant in Strathleven.
The two traffic lanes will be maintained on the A82 whilst the work is ongoing however, the lanes will be narrowed to a single lane at Garshake Junction during off peak times only, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Restrictions will also apply at weekends.
A temporary reduced speed limit will be in force during the works when signs are displayed. This temporary speed limit will be in force for the safety of both motorists and roadworkers. Due to the nature of the works, some delays are possible and drivers are asked to be patient and allow for this when planning their journeys.
For further information or the reporting of incidents call Raynesway Construction 0141 849 0011.
Lomondgate is being developed by Walker Group and Strathleven Regeneration Company, a non profit-making organisation set up in 1999 by Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire Council in conjunction with Diageo, the previous owners of the site, following the closure of the drinks bottling facility on the Gooseholm site.
